This French handmade casserole is from the French company Revol. It will accommodate 2-1/2 qts. It is 9-1/2" diameter and 3" deep and rather than a flat bottom it is slightly sloped. The rich gold color and red flowers with green leaves is Faience Provencale and was made in Poet-Laval in northwestern France. Faience is a type of ceramic made of clay and covered with a glaze.
