Chemex style and performance -
- Chemex is clean and easy to use - place the filter in the Chemex, then the coffee grounds and gradually pour hot, but not boiling, water over the grounds. Discard filter and grounds and serve.
- The filter is 20-30% heavier than most others and effectively removes sediments which contains bitter acids and fats, and ensures that only the pure coffee flavor comes through. The coffee fats and bitter elements are in the coffee grounds, not in your cup.
- Slow brewing allows you to get full flavor from your coffee beans. Unlike flat-bottom filters, the unique conical Chemex shape concentrates flavor-releasing grounds at the bottom of the filter allowing full flavor from your coffee beans.
